What is Teddy Tennis

Teddy Tennis Lessons

Music aside, the core of the Teddy Tennis programme are the Teddy Tennis lessons.

All Teddy Tennis lessons (and there are about 60 of them) are documented into individual lesson plans which are simple to follow for coach and cub cadet alike.

Teddy Tennis lessons are made up of about 5 – 6 different activities, most of which have are accompanied by Teddy Tennis music that was specifically written for that activity.

In the Teddy Tennis programme there are three different types of activities:

  • Movement Activities
  • Ball Activities
  • Racket Activities

.. and in each lesson there is a mix of the different activity types.

Before starting an activity the Teddy Tennis coach (known as Head Ted) will show the Cub Cadets the relevant picture of the activity or game they are about to play so they can see what they are supposed to do.

Teddy Tennis Activity Cards

Teddy Tennis has produced a complete set of full colour A4 images of the bears at the Teddy Tennis Academy actually performing the activity. These are known as Activity Cards. On the back of the Activity Cards, information is provided to the coach telling them how then activity (or game) is to be played.

From the offset the children know exactly what to do in each game and the songs encourage participation and bring a new dimension to the learning experience. The result is that children not only enjoy playing Teddy Tennis, but it holds their attention span, it makes teaching the lessons easier, speeds up the learning process but above all makes the whole experience FUN so that they will want to come back for more and more……

The stimulation of both the visual and auditory senses together has a dramatic effect on the learning capability of the Cub Cadets and it is this combination that is the real secret of Teddy Tennis.
