Due to the nature of an outdoor sport, classes will be cancelled due to inclement weather at the instructors discretion. The safety and welfare of each cadet is of the utmost importance to all of the staff at Teddy Tennis. Rain days will be added onto the end of each session or rescheduled by each individual instructor. Refunds are NOT provided for missed or cancelled classes.
Make-up classes may be rescheduled at other times/locations with the approval of the instructor. The class must be made up within the current session. Make-up classes are NOT rolled over into the next session.
I was Born and Raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama on a NCAA tennis scholarship. After playing collegiate tennis for 4 years, I recieved my Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Upon moving to Houston I began working as an RN with the Memorial Hermann Health Care System, but soon realized I missed tennis being a part of my life. I received my USPTA Professional Teaching Certificate and began teaching part time at Kingwoood Country Club. I immediately saw a need for a program that introduced young children to tennis in an educational and fun way. Although USTA Quick Start Program offers a way for children to compete, I noticed that the children need to fall in love with the sport.. before they compete in it. Teddy Tennis is the answer! I look forward to working with your children and doing my best to see them progress in both skills and enjoyment of the game.
Coach Becky Sandoval
I have lived in Texas for the past 20 years. I grew up in Missouri where I started playing tennis at a young age and continued to play in High School where I was a District Champion and a State finalist. I also played tennis at Missouri Southern State University.
I have a wonderful family and am a stay at home mom. I love having fun and teaching children. I have served as a Childcare Director and have taught Physical Education classes in our Child Development Center at Humble Area First Baptist Church. I am so excited to be a coach for Teddy Tennis. This is a wonderful program and I feel blessed to be a part of it. I look forward to laughing, playing and teaching your children to love tennis! See you on the court!
“Teddy Tennis is awesome! A one of a kind program that allows our 3 year old to learn the basics of tennis with age appropriate games and instruction. We look forward to class each week and love that she is able to be introduced at such a young age to a family favorite sport! Sarah and her staff are so patient and amazing at keeping the kids focused and interested in what is happening on the court! I cannot say enough good things about Teddy Tennis and I am so glad it has been brought to our area.”-Haley W.“I personally love the class. I am grateful that Sarah and her coaches don’t discourage parent participation and trusts us to know our kid’s limits. I have slowly been able to pull back on stuff with my daughter during Teddy Tennis and have seen a lot of growth in her from this. She looks forward to Teddy Tennis every week! Sarah also always enthusiastic and encouraging with the kids when it is their turn to try. I like how she tries to make eye contact and connect with my daughter one on one, even when it seems she is not paying attention… she really makes a positive impact on her!”
“It is my hope that she will be offering classes again after this session is over!”
